Anyone know where I can get a copy of a set of plans, dimensions, etc. for a traditional Shaker workbench? Like you would see at Hancock Shaker Village, the Shaker Museum, or Mt. Lebanon?
Thanks,

Hi Planesaw,
This page lists all of the workbench project plans that have been published in the magazine. You might find a plan that fits your tastes.

Point taken Alan. My only intention was to make you aware of the new resources available, but I can understand your criticism so I will refrain from posts like that in the future.

Well done MBerger. You politically handled Mr. Planesaw nicely.
If I can speak for you.
Mr. Planesaw, the information was offered to get you going in the right direction. FWW, unfortunately, is not in a position to spoon feed every request that comes across our desks, that would be impossible. If you are so bitter with FWW, I have to wonder why you continue to sponge this site for information. If your going to stay, grow up, your attitude is out of line.
Planewaw,
I don't know if you noticed John Stairs Shaker Workbench. If you click on Mike Dunbar's bench and click on the 'workbenches' link to the right it's listed.
were is this located? I would also like to build a shaker bench
rbarlow,
There's not much to see...just small pics of two models of shaker style workbench. See if this works:

thank you would not let me inspect closer without paying.

I believe there are plans for the Shaker Bench in the Workbench book. I'll check all my books on workbenches, and see if I can find them for you. It might take a few days, so hang in there. I'm also presently researching and planning my next bench build, so I'll let you know what I come up with.

There is a very nice shaker style workbench and plans in FWW #100. I can't wait to get started on mine.
Martyrg,
I'll take a look at it. I don't think I knew about that one.
Thanks,

Alan,
How about going to your local library and check out Scott Landis' book on workbenches? This is assuming you do not have a copy. It has plans for a shaker style (as well as others) bench. He shows pictures of some of the ones you mention.
Others have mentioned the Wokbench Book by Landis and were not sure about if it had the plans or not. Rest assured it does have measured drawings of the bench at Hancock ..... should be just what you are looking for although unless you have a lot of room you will have to shrink it down. It is almost 12 feet long if I remember correctly. It is a great design.
