I have just purchased a 50 degree frog for a 4 1/2 smooth plane. I would like to know what my primary bevel should be I will be working with cherry.
Thanks

The "standard" is 30 degrees, with a small micro bevel. (~2 degrees) Some sharpen to 25 degrees primary bevel, but it won't be as durable, especially when planing a hard wood.
Good luck, Tom.
Thanks Tom!
