Just purchased a vintage low angle spoke shave. the bevel is slightly concave across the cutting edge and convex on the back(as is the brass wear strip). I was thinking sandpaper glued over a slightly curved surface may be the most controlled way to retain the blade shape while honing. any ideas?
Thanks

Make sandpaper paddles with popsicle sticks.
Or, somebody will be along with a jig you can make that will take more time than you'd ever need to spend honing it in a lifetime of spokeshaving.

john,
I use the little carver's slipstones , about 3" long. Find one with a narrow side- the ones I use are tapered along one edge. I start with an India, and finish with Arkansas. Woodcraft, and I think Garrett Wade used to sell them.
