You should use a round honing rod or stone to touch up the inside of the rim. A thin diamond hone (DMT Flat File), or a fine grit slipstone can be used to dress the long flat sides of the chipping bevels. If you need to touch up the edge of the chipping bevel, it can be done with the DMT Flat File or a flat needle file. Be careful to maintain the cutting angle of the chipper. To maintain the symmetry of the bit, make equal amounts of file strokes on each side (of the chipper).
Whatever you do, don't do anything to the outer rim of the bit!! It will throw off the diameter of the cut!
