Sharpening Service – Boston Metro West
Hi All,
I know there are lots of eastern MA people hanging out here. Anyone have a recomendation for a saw blade sharpening service? I have two Freud’s that need work. My “all purpose” TS blade and my 60 tooth finish blade on the chop saw.
I read a post somewhere (perhaps in Tooltalk) that someone sent their freuds into Forrest and Forrest sharpened them. Is that because the poster bought a forrest blade or is that a regular service of Forrest?
Thanks,
Mark

I use Needham Saw, located in Needham (I think), of all places. They are tucked in a corner right next to Newton upper? falls, close to 128. A little hole in the wall.

I posted that I send my Freud blades tom Forrest. Forrest sharpened it to better than new. I would recommend them to anyone. I don't know if they will sharpen any brand but they've shapened both my Forrest and Freud.

The last blade I had sharpened was a 40 tooth Forrest WW11. It had been sharpened a number of time before and had to be retipped. I believe it was about $80.00 to replace all tips. A regular sharpening for that blade I think ran about $18.00. I have them sharpened so rarely thta it's hard to remember. I think it was about the same price for the 40 tooth Freud blade. I usually tell them to sharpen and replace any tips that need it. When the blade had to be completely retipped they contacted me before they did that much work. I'm happy with their work and the way they do business.
