Was wondering if anybody could hook me up with a reliable and reasonable place to get my HSS jointer and planer blades sharpened? Used to be some old guys with Belsaw units but they all died or retired and everbody just throws stuff away now. Last idiots i found ruined a set of jointer blades by burning them ans not jointing the edges. Im in WV but not adverse to mailing somewheres.Thanks.

Treetalk,
Check the "Who Sharpens Your Tools" thread in the Magazine Feedback discussion area. They are up to about 34 messages now recommending sharpening services they like.
Good Luck, George
Sorry george but im usually at Breaktime. How do i get to the mag. feedback area? Thanks for ur help.
Treetalk,
I am guessing that as you are reading this, you are in the Knots community which is the Fine Woodworking board. If your screen is like mine, on the left hand side there is a list of discussion areas such as "Workshop," "General Discussion," "Power Tools & Machinery" (the one this message is posted in), etc. If you scroll down that list the last discussion area is "Magazine Feedback." The messages about sharpening services are in that area.
Good luck. Let me know if you find it. George
Thanks George! Should be a nice article when it comes out.
I built my house 20 years ago just using two handsaws and there were several sharpeners around. One even did the needle down the set gullets trick. We used to sharpen our own one man and two man crosscut saws ..alas we were so idealic back then. I do sharpen my chainsaw tho ! but not my sawmill bands..hey for $5 why bother.
