I live in S. WV and am looking for a sharpening service for planer /jointer knives/ blades .Dont mind shipping if price and turnaround is decent. All the old codgers with Foley/Belsaw sharpening services are out of the business.Last place i sent my planer blades ruined them.

I've used bullsharp.com in the chicago area decent price, top notch work.
The Woodcraft headquarters is in WV, isn't it? They have a sharpening service. Check out their web site.
Jamison's in Roanoke County, does an excellent job.

Don't know if it's close enough for you, they've got decent prices and do jobs on a one-week turnaround.

A: His lips are moving.
I'm gonna endorse jim's recommendation of Bull Sharpening in Berwyn, Illinois just outside Chicago. I've been a "walk-in" customer, purchased saw blades and router bits, and then had them sharpened when needed. Been happy with the level of service they provide. Even had a blade with a novelty cut (10 degree beveled top) for dovetails which I was pleased with.

I've heard good things about W. D. Quinn Saw here in St. Louis. I'm heading up there in the next few days because my dado threw a tooth. I talked to a friend and he had a 4' circlular saw blade fixed and sharpened, and his Forrest blade, and said they did a great job.
