All,
I have not used the #80 much, prefer hand scrapers, but I thought I’d follow Philip Lowe’s protocol re: preparing woods for finishing. Anyhow, I have a 45 degree bevel on the blade which I flattened the back and sharpened the bevel to a burr on 220 W&D paper. Should I stop there and burnish the edge or take the bevel to 600, 1000, etc. thanks

Stanford,
Thanks, great timing, lunch is over, raring to go. I'll take both sides up to 1000 and give it a shot.
