I’ve been experimenting with shellac and purchased some 1lb bags of different colors about 3 months ago. They’ve been stored in my South Carolina based shop and to no surprise to most of you; melded together into nice little bricks. The waxed shellac was still flaky and I’ve used it without issue.
Is the dewaxed shellac still usable albeit with a little more precipitate that will need to be filtered off? Or is it best to just throw it away. I read a brief explanation that heat causes polymerization to dewaxed shellac but stopped short of explicitly stating whether it could be used.
Any real world advice?

Ask Jeff
Yes it is still usable but will take longer to disolve. Next time you buy some, package it in zip lock sandwich bags in the amount right to make about a liter at a time of your prefered cut and store it in a cool dry place in a sealed container( air conditioned house). I had it happen once too. By the way where are you in S.C.

Thanks Phillip,
I'm from Columbia- Are you nearby?
Near by ... Well no, about 10000 km away (Near Milano Italy) but I grew up in Greenville.
