In FWW #234, Mario Rodriguez discusses applying shellac to a furniture piece (table top). He shows suspending the piece on screws driven through little plywood triangles. It’s unclear to me if he’s finishing both sides of the table top as he never discussed how he can apply the finish to one side then flip it. Finishing one side at a time for several coats would seem to take forever with a two hour dry time. If he does flip it, how?

At times, I've done acouple coats of shellac on the underside of a top, but not the ends. The shellac dries really fast. I can almost do a second coat right away on a large top. I flip the top over using my fingers on the ends. Then finish the top, ends and edges.
Sometimes I just finish the top and leave the underside unfinished.
