I was mixing up a new batch of shellac and accidentally poured mineral tupentine (which I think you americans call ‘mineral spirits’) over it instead of metholated spirits (alchohol). I’ve drained off the turps. Is it ok to redisolve the shellac flakes in metholated spirits now or will I just get a contaminated mix that will ruin any work it is used on?
