I’ve been searching for plans for a Sheridan bed. Does anyone have a source that I can contact?
Thanks

dave,
Here in the Shenandoah Valley, no-one would want such a thing. Ole Phil Sheridan is still regarded pretty harshly hereabouts.
Possibly you should google "Sheraton", or try to find the following books:
Masterpieces of Furniture, by Verna Cook Salomonsky, Dover #0-486-21381-1
Construction of American Furniture Treasures, Lester Margon, Dover#0-486-23056-2
Both of these have plans for Sheraton style beds. Also Wallace Nutting's Furniture Treasury, Vol III has many drawings of bedposts, from Queen Anne onward to Sheraton and Hepplewhite (no measured drawings, however, if I remember correctly)
Hope this helps,
Ray
Here in Tennessee we rolled over pretty quick and didn't experience Phil's exploits. Luckly we are discussing his ancestor, who I sure was really a nice guy.
I have looked in Nuttings' book and as you stated there are no measured drawings. I have not seen the other two books. I tried a google and it appeared to be non-relevant items.
I had hoped that there were some articles/books where they had measured drawings to go by - as in most of my furnitre - as a starting point.
Thanks for the reply
Dave,
Not likely they were related, unless Thomas SheraTOn's descendant decided to change the spelling to SheriDAn.
Save your Dixie cups, the South will rise agin...

Ray
Phil Lowe wrote an article about making a Sheraton bed for FWW issue #113, pp. 42-45, that you might find helpful.
Dave,
In respone to Bill's post look here under plans. These plans are for the bed featured in the article referenced.
