Hey. I was looking for some advice on refinishing shiplap walls in my house. They are approxinately. 150 years old. And have a stain on them now. I tried sanding them but there was too much dust. Is there any kind of planer that would work good. Also would tung oil be a good finish product. I want to give them the antique look. Thank you

Some more info would likely help with getting valuable advice. What is the condition/age? Dry, cracked wood, or pretty solid? Are they painted? If they're old, then they're likely painted, probably multiple coats, surely with lead based paint. All these factors would impact how to refinish them.
Thanks for the reply. The walls are roughly 150 years old and just have a stain on them now there is some cracks and worm holes and nails i have to remove. Looking for some sort of planer instead of chemical or sanding
Take them down and denail them, numbering them as you go. Just run the through a planer, sand & finish and put them back where they came from, board by board. Trying to do this while on the wall will be an epic nightmare.
