I just finished a roughed in workshop. It is built over a basement so I have a wood floor. I’ve seen and read many articles about shop design but I’m looking for suggestions on the flooring. I’ve spent most of my budget so I can’t afford a hard wood floor. My shop area is 20ft by 20ft. What would you recommend for a durable shop floor? Most of my major shop tools are on roll around bases.

Why spend the money now? The subfloor may be just fine to work on, and if you eventually chew it up badly, cover it then. It's better to spend money later than sooner.
