Aaaack! I’ve created a monster! I’m still trying to dial in the layout of my fairly new shop (10 months). I’ve grown a little frustrated with the amount of time I’ve spent doing so and want to get back to building stuff.
It started with some new power tools I thought I needed then getting all those tuned up and settled into the shop and then it got complicated. I brought some old cabinets home with me from a remodel job and added them to the already displaced assorted tools and some partially completed projects plus my portable tools in transition going to and from job sites. I had to add a couple of new circuits and hit the new tools with dust collection. It was quite a jumbled up mess and I’ll admit to feeling a little overwhelmed at one point.
After a couple of late nights and long days it’s starting to look much better and I’m starting to feel like it was worth the effort. I have both my new and old table saws set up back to back with a surrounding out feed/work area with lots of storage below thanks to recycling of the old cabinets.
The photos are pretty scary but it’s getting better and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Wish me luck.

grw,
Thanks, the shop is 24 x 40 on the outside minus the bathroom, so inside it's about 23 x 35. It also has big loft and a shed roof covered storage and a barn on one end.

Open is nice
Bret,
Having an open floor plan like you've got is sure nice. The loft must be nice for storing all kinds of stuff. My shop has a loft too - it's called "upstairs". Your lighting looks real nice. I think you need to get yourself some French cleats on the wall and hang some cabinets.
Rome was not Built in a Day
Bret,
Chaos and getting settled in a shop is no fun. I feel for you. It looks like your table saw setup is built so it will work for decades to come. In the long run you will laugh a bit about it all. I made a list and checked items off as I went. Of course there are still some items to be checked off.... and some changes to be made....
All in all 90% of us out here would love to have such a large well lit dedicted shop! Have I mentioned lately I hate sharing my shop with my wifes car.... Ha!
I see you big DC in the corner and some drops going down, but I don't see how you ran drops to the dual TS setup. Are you going to do and overhead drop for the TS at the blade covers as well, ala Sarge? Be interested in seeing what you come up with there.

"Oh, the clutter," he did
"Oh, the clutter," he did mutter. "How can I ever putter?" But, soon the work was slipping through like butter. ;-)
Looking good, Bret.
You have a bathroom in your shop? A Starbuck's, too? ;-)
shop bathroom
Yes, a bathroom is the ultimate shop luxury, completer with mahogany magazine rack containing the Grizzly catalog and old issues of FWW magazine.
I've been using the back to back table saw set up and it works great. I've got one saw set up for dado and one for cutting. I have two dust collectors, one for each end of the shop. The new saw setup is fed from the side along the floor to the DC. The other one feds from overhead with drops.
I'll post some photos once i get my camera working.

I think I have a sign like that, but it's covered with spider webs and saw dust. ;-)
