Hello all, I am trying to find an article by Tage Frid on the construction of a shop made bow saw. I know it has to be 20 years old, but I always wanted to build it. I thought it was in his 3 book series but I just went through them and can’t find it.
I am currently thumbing through all my old woodworking books, and mags to find it. Anyone remember which book, or magazine?

I have built quite a few, I didn't follow a plan, they are really pretty simple. Simon Watts had an article way back in FWW when it was really a great publication, not sure of the issue. I use them for everything, best dovetail saw ever.
I found the Simon Watts article, I really want to read the Frid article again.
Thanks
Ben may have the answer, but the main thing is to have the blade. The rest is just two pieces of wood for handles/blade holder, and a string that winds under tension with a stick to hold. That's the fun part.
It might be in FWW Issue 8 (Fall 1977). There was an article by Tage Frid entitled "Sawing by Hand". As I recall, there was a sidebar on making a bowsaw. It has been reprinted in one of the Fine Techniques books, maybe Volume 2. If you email me I can dig it out and scan it for you.
Not the same but close..
Something I found for you..
EDIT! I forgot the link...
