Hi Gary, I am interested in making my own shop made hinges of wood but am having trouble finding information on the subject. Would you point me in the right direction please?
Thanks for your help
Brian McGinnis
PS- Love the books especially The complete illustrated guide to Joinery. The Router Handbook is also almost competely worn out. Thanks again, Brian

Hi Brian,
Sorry for the long delay in responding. Someone asked a similar question in Knots recently so you should check out that discussion.
Our publisher recommended the following:
"There's a good Methods of Work tip in the Feb. 1987 issue on this topic.
Also: Article on Swiss boxes features a different style wooden hinge, April 1991, p 86;
An article on building a blanket by John Dunham with a long wooden hinge: March 1989, p 48
And if your collection of FWW goes way back, there a piece on making hinges for two-way hinges from folding screens in the Spring 1978 issue, p 69.
I could not find these articles on the website; probably because we don't have digital rights."
Thanks,
Gina

Thanks Gina, Am new to FWW so dont have back issues needed. Jamie (Forestgirl) said she may have them and will check. Greatly appreciate your effort.
Thanks again, Brian
