I am refinishing a walnut veneered dresser and am nearing finish time. I would like to use a Danish oil on the veneer, and will paint some of the profiles. Should I use Benite prior to the oil? Can I paint over benite?

Benite is someone's specific brand name for something, which is probably why you didn't get a response. A google search reveals it to be a "clear wood sealer". It might be of some value as a pre-stain sealer for cherry or pine, which tend to "blotch" with certain stains. But for a Danish oil finish I can see no benefit. And you can paint over the Danish oil, IF you let it FULLY CURE-to the point where there is no odor when you sniff closely. For some paints this might be overkill, but better safe than sorry.
*Thank you, Steve. Benite is a clear wood sealer made by Daly's; I had no idea it was a brand name (I'm a beginner, if you hadn't figured that out by now!). I put the first coats of Watco Danish Oil on last night and it seems to be going well. I will wait until the oil is well dried to even think about the paint, too. Thanks again.
