I’d like to know everyone’s opinion as to should there be new router bit profiles put on the market? Even though there’s a lot out there, we do need some fresh designs. What’s your opinion?

I'm all for it. I often make my own trim and moldings if I can't find what I want or if I just want something "new".
should there be new router bit profiles put on the market?
Paul,
Easy enough to make nearly any profile you want in minutes from a standard one, if you have access to a Deckel.

purely for the sake of conversation, just what would one of those set you back?
Currently there's one on ebay, nine bids and up to $416.
Seriously, a great machine if you know how to use it, and have the right assortment of grinding wheels.
Jon
CAG,
One hour out, and up to $455.
I'll see, might bid on it myself. Would be handy to have.
BTW, new, my quess is around $2K. But there's not internet pricing out there.
Jon
Edit: sold for $485.

not quite so bad, guessing you werent the winning bidder ;)?
CAG,
Gave it some thought and decided since we have one at work, and I still have a job, I really don't need one that bad. I'd say if you can find one for anything under $500. it's a good price. They last forever, and can sharpen any tool bit, or turn one bit/cutter into another. The one at our shop probably gets used 20 to 50 times a day when we're busy.
Jon
CAG,
I see HF is now selling a knock-off for $600.

Jon,
Only took me about a month to get here and read this, still not sure I could justify 600 beans for that particular tool.
I'd like to see a guide on making different profiles by combining cuts from different bits.
