I was wondering if anybody has any of these blades and just how good are they? They have a carbide tipped dado set at my local HD for $80. Good or bad investment?

I think that you mean the Signature line made by Oldham/ U.S. Saw. I think that Oldham makes very good saw blades. I have used an Oldham dado set for quite a while and it works very well. It is not from the signature line and it was more expensive than what you are talking about, it may have been around $110? Oldham, I believe, is an under appreciated maker of sawblades.

I agree with JS. The Oldham blades are underappreciated. They are all I use. I have their high dollar dado set at about $180. Alot of money but extremely good quality cuts. I use the Signature blades but they run in the neighborhood of $65-$90. They do provide you with a free sharpening of most blades. The lesser expensive dados do a fine job. What you are giving up in that price range is the ability to fine tune the width of your dado as precisely as with the more expensive set up. I have used Forest blades in the past and I feel as though I get as good a cut and the blades last just as long at about 20-30% less cost.
Dave: I have been using OldHam blades for years they make a very good blade.. that company has just been bought by Pentair who also owns Delta/Porter-Cable

Thanks for all the answers guys. Now I have to put in a purchase requisition for the dado set. I am getting a bit tired of sharping the one I got from Sears that id HSS. Now to fill out the reams of paperwork. LOL
