Hey all…now that I am all moved in here in Ky. I need a new shaving horse..I left my old one with a buddy in NC.
Heres what I am thinking of..
First..3 legs…more stable
Second..instead of a slab bench..I’m toying with two say, 2×6 rails, splayed like a >..
third ..a moveable seat (slide back and forth, like a rowing machine) and can be locked with a peg.
fourth..a dumbhead that can adjust for thin stock and also thicker material with out losing clamp pressure OR killing my leg(S)..
I have spotted some neat ones..one in FWW a year or so ago..but I was wonderin who out there has a great new spin on an old standby..?
I have made many of the Underhill flavor, and various modifications of the same..my library is still packed up and my resources are there fore limited to the web.
Any body wanna jump on this one?

I received the plans last week but haven't started construction yet. Looks promising; relatively small, comfortable seat, adjustable work height and with three legs uneven floors should be no problem.

You might want to look at the one designed by Brian Boggs (he's in or near Berea, Kentucky). It's comfortable and works very well. I'll see if I can attach a snapshot.

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.

I am near Kelly Mehler and Warren May too..Rude Osonilik (SP) was here before his passing on...great area for wood workers..
