My wife bought for me from Ebay the SketchUp Guide for Woodworkers, The Basics with Dave Richards. I am trying my best to draw the cabinet in Video 2. Sometimes I get as far as making the top but don’t know how I did it. I don’t understand how I made it into an entity and when I copy it to the bottom, the space shows up under the axis but without edges. I think I need to master the basics before I spend $200 + for a course. I’m going to stay with it and try to remember how I did it. Maybe I need a new CD – SketchUp for Crazy Pants.

Dave will be along shortly to help. He's super incredibly helpful.
Nice to see Crazypants being adopted systemwide. Good job.
I worked on it again until I got goo-goo eyed. This time I recognized that a (+) appears when the top turns into an entity. So, I know how I did it. Move tool, control key, when + sign appears type in the measurements. This time, when I double clicked on the bottom with the move tool, the edges did show up. Maybe I'll remember how I did it tomorrow.
Sounds like you're starting to pick it up a little. Dave Richard moves fairly quickly through the basics in the video. I found the best way to get through it was to let him give a couple instructions, stop the video, recreate what he did on my copy SketchUp and then move on to the next set of instructions. If I didn't get it the first time, I'd go back and listen to the instructions again until I could duplicate what he did. Youtube is also filled with instructions on SketchUp. If you type in "SketchUp move tool" for example, you'll get quite a few videos demonstrating and explaining what is and how to use it. That might be a way for you to get a little more instruction on something Dave is trying to teach if you get stuck. Good luck.
You aptly described what I am doing with the video. I start it over and over until I understand what happened.
