I’m sure there is something basic I’m doing wrong. I have the CD for “Sketchup Guide for Woodworkers” and have all the needed apps loaded: Sketchup (free), Adobe Acrobat, and Quick Time. Clicking “Start Sketchup Basics” opens the main menu in Acrobat that begins with “Introduction”. Clicking any of the menu items on the first page starts Quick Time. However, I get nothing except a blank black screen. Any help would be appreciated.

wrong file
If you are talking about Dave Richards "Sketchup Guide for Woodworkers" the video files are what you want to open. If you open the from Acrobat (~Start~SketchUp_Basics.pdf) you have to start Sketchup and then can see and manipulate the file in Sketchup (once you get brave).
The firwt one is labeled "022712_SKP_00_Brightcove_H264_HD_1500kbps.mp4". Then 01, 02, 03 etc. They are in the VIDEOS folder.
I purchased this as a download long ago and found it highly instructive for designing a project and printing shop drawings.
Blank Screen
Forrestb,
Thanks for the reply. Yes. I have the Dave Richards DVD. It seems that no matter how I try to start the Quick Time videos, they will not run. It appears that the design of the DVD is to start an Acrobat menu system that will then start the appropriate app and open the file appropriate to the menu selection. This works just fine with the Sketchup files, but not the videos. Quick Time starts and appears to try to load a video file, but nothing happens (just an hourglass cursor).
Alternatively, I can start Quick Time separately and then try to open one of the files but, again, I only get a blank screen. Doing the same with Sketchup will open any of the Sketchup files on the disc. This, of course, does little good without the instructional videos.
I suppose it's possible that I have a defective disc.
