Sketchup Pro — Mac or PC version?
I am about to take the plunge and upgrade to Pro. Even though, I mostly use a Mac, most woodworking programs are PC-based. I have both platforms and can use both.
My question: Should I get the PC version because there are many more plug-ins available than for the Mac version? Are there any other differences of which I am not aware?
Thanks for any help.

On what platform are you currently using SketchUp? And what plugins are you referring to that don't work on Mac? I have more than 100 plugins in my Plugins folders on both my PC and Mac. I don't have any that won't work on the Mac.
There are a few things related to platform that you might want to consider. For example animation exports on Mac or .MOV while on the PC they are .AVI. I'm not sure one is better than the other, though.
Not that I am trying to talk you out of upgrading but for what reason are you doing it?
"for what reason are you doing it?"
Dave:
I really need the "pro" feature for making flexible components. Also, I need to be able to export component lists to create cut lists. I also want to export .dwf files - I have a CNC machine.
I also want more flexible printing - I have a tabloid size color laser printer.
I need to be able to give someone a simple, easy to follow path for someone to build components and sub assemblies.
Although I haven't used it, I think layout will be useful.

So, making Dynamic components, DXF/DWG export and Layout are good reasons to upgrade.
I think your choice of platforms really will just come down to which one you feel more comfortable with. You can always keep the free version on the other one.
I have the Pro version on both my PC desktop and my MacBook Pro. Functionally I don't really see any differences. There are certainly differences in the way you do some things. I have to remember which machine I'm working on for modifier keys but drawing is the same.
