Ok so I followed a video tutorial for sketchup from http://www.garymkatz.com/charts_drawings.html did a few modifications to it since what I’m making is not a book case but a cover for a floor safe.
So here is my question actually a few questions. I still need to add a door and what I wanted to do is a raised panel door. would it be easer to make the door on the side than just move it into place? also how would you do the raised panel? I actually wanted to do raised panels on the sides.
In the video he has an outside side than an inside side big question there is why and how to attach them?
That brings up a big question how to get my joints added?

I would draw the door in place in the opening of your cabinet. Draw the rails and stiles first, making them components. As far as doing the raised panel itself, there are several ways to do it. Depending on the profile of the raising, you could draw the outline of the panel and a section of the raising for Follow Me. If the raising is simply a wide bevel, you could draw the panel to the thickness of the edges (Rectangle tool followed by Push/Pull) and then use Offset on the front face. Select the face inside the offset lines (this is the field of the panel) and, while holding Alt, use the Move tool to move the field out to the desired distance. Alt invokes Auto Fold which will automatically create the ends of the bevels. So, if the panel is 3/4" thick over all and you'll make the edges1/4" thick, Draw the rectangle and Push/Pull to 1/4". Offset say 2" for the raising. Get the Move tool, hold Alt and move the field 1/2".
I'll make a quick illustration for you to show it.
p.s. I thought we got you set up with a better template when we talked.
Dave,
Yes I think we did set up a better template when we talked. This file was done on the laptop which I just set up. I will have pull up the desktop and see how I have that one set up.

It's done slightly differently than described above.
