It will not stay at the depth setting. All locks are locked down, still the base (NOT the bit) will move. I set a depth of cut, and as i was routing, the cut kept going deeper. Bit stay in place in the collett, never moved. The “motor” part just dropped down towards the base. Any ideas out there?

Best Guess
I have to start out by saying that the engineering of the Skil line of routers are less than impressive, so getting them to work well is an uphill battle. I actually like their power saws by the way, I own two of them, but their routers are definitely lightweight.
It would appear from their manual, which I found online, that the locking lever is just a cam that presses against a tab in the base casting. If the cam surface wears down, it looks like it may be plastic, the pressure against the tab would be reduced. The proper fix would be to replace the cam, but you may find that a thin piece of metal slipped in between the lever and the cam will compensate for the wear and tighten the thing up. Cut a shim out of a soda can and slip it in between the cam and the tab as you press the lever down and see if that helps. If the fix works use a piece of double sided tape to hold the shim in place.
A picture..
of this thing. IF I can get it fixed, it does run nice. The depth of cut just won't stay put. Bit stays put in the collet, the base is what is moving,,,,,DOWN.
