I’ve got an old skil 3104 10 inch bandsaw I’d like to find some blade guides for. I’ve looked high and low and found nothing. Does anybody know where I can find them? Even some I can modify to make work would be OK. Thanks in advance. 🙂
Edit to add more information.
I need 4 guide blocks total. Size would be 1/2 by 3/4 by 3/4. Think of a 2 x 4 piece of wood only 1/2 x 3/4 x 3/4 in length. These are very strange guide blocks.

Are the original guides square blocks like in the Delta or Rockwell 14" band saws?
If so, you can make wooden ones. Lignum Vitae is the wood of choice since it's very hard and self lubricates. It's available at Rockler and Woodcraft Supply, and probably every exotic hardwood dealer.
Thanks again, 211435, I used some red oak I had and made them out of it. It works really well. No more blade flutter and it cuts a straight line now too.
Much appreciated. 👍
Hey, thanks! Yes, I guess they are square. I thought about using some oak scraps I got but lignum vitae would be better huh? Self looper caiting 2. Sounds like that would be the way to go if it comes down to it.
Lignum vitae has been used for decades in the shipbuilding industry as a superb material for propeller bearings. Notable for it's excellent wear and lubricating properties. One small piece would probably be a lifetime supply for your saw.
Hey thanks rclark5, Yeah, my saws only a 10 inch and not all that great to begin with so I just used the red oak I had to give it a try. If I decide to keep it long-term I'm sure I'll switch to lignum vitae and make all 4 of the guides out of it. My dream is to get a 14 inch saw someday but we'll see how that goes. 🙂
If you need just a tiny pc look for someone selling pen blanks to turners.
Great idea, MJ, thanks! 👍
Cool blocks?
Hi, John C2 and thanks for your reply. First, looks like I should have been more specific about the size. They're not actually square but oblong. Lets say, 1/2 thick, 3/4 wide and 3/4 long. Think of a 2 x 4 piece of wood only this would be, 1/2 x 3/4 with a length of 3/4. Very odd, indeed. Cool blocks makes a 3/4 inch slab that I could cut some out of ( I need 4 total.) but it's over $40 so I'm not inclined to go there. $$$
