Greetings all…
I have been resawing some green, firewood-size logs into boards. Going fine. I am using a 3 TPI skip tooth blade.
I saw online a choice between skip tooth and hook tooth… the uses listed were the same for each. So, what’s the difference?
Thanks,
William

William,
I went looking for a google page to save me typing this - pictures tell a thousand words.
hook teeth are teeth that are shaped like rose thorns, arranged in the same fashion as teeth on a hand saw.
skip teeth have the same shape as hook teeth, but every second tooth is 'skipped', so it's missing off the blade - gives plenty of room for sawdust to be carried from the cut - slightly higher feedrate.
Have to rush, hope that this helps,
eddie
