I use some small drum sanders, 1″ and 2″, getting the old sleeve off is no problem- but getting the new one on is like potting a square peg in a round hole. The new sleeves are so tight that I can only get it 2/3’s of the way on.
Any tips on installing new sleeves on these drum sanders?

Put the rubber drum in a freezer for a coupla hours. This will contract it enough to remove the paper, or replace the paper.
Thank you for your help. I'll try the freezer next time.
About once every six months I read a post that actually has a usefull piece of information. Thanks
Thank you for your kind words.Expansion and contraction are often overlooked issues in machinery and woodworking, but it's an important consideration.
I find that dusting the drum and sleeve with talcum, intended for the babys bottom,is a big help in this situation.
