Gents and Ladies,
I’m in the finishing stage of a round walnut slab table and have filled some cracks and voids with epoxy resin. I used hot glue to make a dam around the fill areas and the epoxy is now hardening.
What is the best way to remove the excess resin? I assume the glue should just peel off, but the resin will take more effort.
Any guidance or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

How did you flatten the slab? If the setup is still intact you can use it to get close enough to finish with a scraper.
It was flat enough when I brought it home. Just have been sanding it.
I'd sand or go with a scraper. For small areas I'll bend the spine of a single edge razor blade and scrape with that.
I always start with a cabinet scraper to get it flush, then sand with fine sandpaper (same as I'm using on the wood.) I usually do things in the opposite order, starting with the filling before scraping or sanding the wood. That way there is less scraping to do around the filled area, where the epoxy has soaked into the wood or its pores a bit.
If you don't have a cabinet scraper, you can use a hand plane or even a card scraper, tho it is harder to get the surface flat with a card scraper than with a tool with a sole. In a pinch, you can sand with the sandpaper wrapped around a hard block of wood; that will not create a noticeable dip in the table top.
