They have it my Lowe's already. All I can say is would someone like to buy a lightly used DW733?
I saw it at Lowes also but I have to say that thing is hardly portable. Look nice but, if I'm going to spend that much money, it is worth it for me to spend a little more and get a production machine like a delta 15". Not only would it be a better machine but a heck of a lot easier on the ears. And this is actually significant to me now because I do need a planer.
But if someone was making me buy a portable, I think I'd have to take a serious look at the dewalt (even though I really don't like dewalt tools all that much). It looks like a very well thought out and well built machine.

Interesting. I'd like to see one in person.
Dewalt now has this on their website.

Interestingly they also have listed a 734 model. Same as the 733 I own, but with a 3 knife cutterhead. Wasn't aware that was available. The 3-knife cutterhead seems to be one of the major advantages of the 735 over a 733. Perhaps it'll be an upgradable part if someone wished to upgrade their 733.
Looks interesting anyway. I've loved my 733. Well worth the $300 I payed for it. Probably keep using it until I wear it out, which will hopefully not happen.
Be interesting to hear how people actually like it when they start using it.
Saw one in the metal this am at Seven Corners ......... first impressions; it's HEAVY, not necessarily a bad thing depending how much you have to lug it around. Nice fit and finish. I'm curious where all the extra weight comes from; the 3rd knife can't be responsible for it all.
Looks like they really beefed up there design, but how will it perform thats the $69.00 queston.. only time will tell..

Well, personally it won't matter much to me. I have a very limited tool budget. When I get one I'm pretty much stuck with it. Unless it doesn't work well or I find a good used one for cheap.<G>
But, my current Dewalt planer works great, so I'll stick with it until I wear it out. Been amazed how many uses I find for a planer. Owning one is really a great boon for a woodworker. The portable ones make it possible $300 vs. $750 for the cheapest floor model Grizzly makes (though it does double duty as a moulding cutter).
I'd assume this one is a fairly big step up with the two speeds and 3 knives. Kinda question the lack of fold down tables. Not a very wide carriage to set the board on. I'd suspect owners will be building stands that add more infeed and outfeed support.
How about you go buy one and let us know how it works. LOL

Billy: NAWW IM quite happy with my older but reliable Belsaw planer it ain't pretty but it sure does a great job on wood..

I've never even heard of Belsaw. how big of a planer is it? Floor model or portable? Do you have problems getting blades or parts for it?
Anyway, glad it works well for you.
You're probably too young to remember the Belsaw. Sears sold it under their own brand for a few years also.
I've had one since 1977 and it was probably over 20 years old when I got it. Still performs flawlessly with only having replaced worn out blades and infeed outfeed rollers.
Parts are still available.
Don't know if I'm too young or not, but until a few years ago I didn't know there were better tools then Craftsman.<G>
Some of the tools I bought when I first started I'd never buy now.
I now know what I like. Unfortunately, knowing what quality is and being able to afford it aren't the same thing. But, I either buy a good quality power tool now, or I don't buy one at all. I replace the cheap tools w/ better ones as they break/wear out. Usually after a long ebay bidding process to keep costs down.<G>
Is that a 2-1/2" hose fitting inside the 4" fitting ?
I like that feature.
