Soft Close drawer slides – solid wood case
I have constructed a solid wood case for a chest of drawers – which includes drawer divider frames.
I’m guessing that any side mounted drawer slides will inhibit wood movement on the case sides – are there any soft close systems that don’t rely on side mounting?
Thanks,

Blum Tandem drawer slides have slotted mounting holes. Perhaps using a pan head screw with a washer snug but not tight will accomplish what you want? Or drill holes in the bottom of the slide and mount to your frame.
Lee Valley Tools carries several "undercount" sliders, including some that are soft-closing. I installed 6 pairs of them in a pair of twin chests-of-drawers and plan to use 3 more pairs for a chest I am about to start.
Here's a link (it's to the Canadian LVT site):

I second what Danny mentioned above - I think if you use the slotted mounting holes with the screw centered, that should provide plenty of room for wood movement.
Handmade solid wood dresser with ball bearing slides - I love it.
Let me be gentle here - It will look like something from IKEA or Walmart! OK, I said it.
But I’ll bet you’ve already sized the drawer for those [hideous] slides.....at least go with soft close.
No, seriously. At least you’re thinking about wood movement.
:-D
Here is a woodworker on YouTube who makes a cabinet with under mount, soft close slides. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVUJ_1OyiY8
He includes links to all his equipment and parts.
Gentlemen, thank you.
It looks like I have my solution - appreciate your efforts to make this forum a valuable resource.
