What are the advantages and disadvantages of using solid core vs. laminated plywood? I bought some of each at my local HD for the same price. The solid core is much lighter (less glue) and easy to work with. I wouldn’t think that it’s any less durable than the laminated variety, but I would appreciate comments from anyone who has cabinetmaking experience using both varieties. Thanks.

Solid core doesn't have the potential voids on edge that plywood has. Also the edge treatment is similar to solid wood.
Solid core is just like a solid core door here's a link to a message I posted earlier. The info is from Georgia Pacific Lumber Co.
