Source for 8 inch knives for jointer
I am having a devil of a time finding a source for immediate shipment of 8 inch X 1 inch X 0.125 (1/8″ thick) jointer knives. Both Amana and Freud make them, but who carries them in stock?

Thanks. I tried Grizzley, but apparently did not try hard enough. I also was able to find the belts I was looking for at Grizzley.
Thanks!

I would check with your local woodworking machinery dealer. I needed knives for an ancient J.D. Wallace jointer. My local dealer had the right size in stock. He also gave me a chart which listed knife sizes for 30 or more jointers. He had most of these in stock and could order many of the others. In another case, I sent away directly to Powermatic to get a new set of planer knives. When they arrived I discovered they were made by Wisconsin Knife Works. The knives were fine but I could have paid 20% less by just going through my local dealer who also carried Wisconsin products.

You can contact the manufacturers you listed for local dealers. You can also go to the links page for places like http://www.bullsharp.com , http://www.woodtechtooling.com for tooling dealers who specialize in such matters. Try looking under sharpening in your local yellow pages for other options. You have many options justas simple 800 number or local call away. I prefer to call rather than e-mail, too slow for me.
