My DC is in need of a new top bag. It’s the Delta 50-850 I think (1.5hp, rated 1200 cfm, 20 inch diameter bag). It sets outside in it’s own house so I don’t need expensive bags. 30 micron is what came with it and those are great. Anyone know of a cheap source for these? $50 is outrageous!
I could make one if I knew what cloth would be best to get from the local cloth store.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I've been wanting to upgrade my DC bag but have been balking because of the price. SWMBO (a lady with a SERIOUS sewing habit) took one look and announced that it was a piece of cake. My order goes in today. - lol
Thanks FG
I get the Penn State catalogs. They are the cheapest I've been able to find but still seem outrageously high for that line of products.
One thing that really ticked me off once was when I was first in the market for a DC. I have plenty of motors and I can make all the components except the suction fan. When looking around for the suction fans I found out that they alone were selling for more that what an entire Jet or Delta DC was selling for. I expected to get one for around $20 or so. But NO, they were wanting $200-$300 just for a fan and housing!
I'm continually amazed by the tremendous mark up with many woodworking tools. Hopefully, the Internet will continue to act somewhat as a levelling ground.
Sorta like buying replacement compressor pumps. They sell for about what I paid for my entire 5HP Porter Cable compressor.
Yesterday, using the Internet, I found a tool co. in Maine that would ship cheaper to CA than what a Nevada company would ship the same thing for! (Xmas present for my son)
I'll get down off my soapbox now.
