Source For Oliver 54 Lathe spindle thread insert for superNova2 Chuck
More precious than titaniam is unobtaniam, and I hope that isn’t my situation. Does anybody know if the Oliver thread size that I measure on my 1905 Oliver Lathe as 1 1/16 inch diameter with 8 thread per inch on a 1 1/8 inch thread became a size that was used by another manufacturer? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

You can probably get a "blank" insert that can be threaded by any machine shop. You will likely have to find a more complete definition of the thread specifications, or be able to take the arbor to the shop so they can match it.

Well, as things turn out Item "I7NS" insert at Teknatool threads perfecty to the Oliver. It is a RH 1 1/8" 8 TPI thread. All is well!
Oliver 2951 - Same thread issue
I recently obtained an oliver and am having a similar threading issue and was wondering if your pm contined a solution. I ordered the I7NS adapter listing in the last post of the thread but it fits loosely on my headstock. I have a stock oliver faceplate that fits so I am fairly confident that my spindle wasn't customized.
Let me know if you have any ideas.
Thanks
