I’m looking for a source for resorcinol glue. I’ve checked HD, Lowe’s and Woodcraft to no avail. Any ideas. I’m near Baltimore, MD….. Where DAP is headquartered….
I’d prefer to avoid mail order, because the hazardous designation drives up shipping costs.

Quickstep ,
Sorry I don't have a store name to give you but , try marine supply outlets or any boat repair shop or supply houses .
good luck dusty
DAP makes Weldwood resorcinol glue and also make Weldwood urea formaldehyed slow setting plastic resign glue. Great stuff! ACE hardware stores are one of DAPS distributors.

I am sure there will be a West Marine store there. If they don't have resorcinol, it would only be because most people would prefer epoxy for most applications where you would need the other. The only thing that resorcinol has over epoxy is that it doesn't loose strength after the temperature gets over 200ยบ, which most of the time this does not ever matter.
On the other-hand, resorcinol really requires a lot of psi's to bond properly, and epoxy only needs enough pressure to have both sides be in contact with the other, and not even that if there is enough epoxy to fill that gap. Actually, that is when it is best. Epoxy likes a fat glue-line. Straight out of the bottles, it is a bit too brittle for glue. You give it elasticity by adding fillers.

In some locales, I believe it is prohibited for sale (toxicity or something to that effect).
Where? Under what conditions?Pete
Pete,
I think I goofed. I am not sure, but I believe it is urea formaldehyde wood glue that is restricted in a small number of locales. In any event, I don't know which locales fall under the restrictions, it was something I recall reading about in a book somewhere. Sorry for the confusion.
try aircraftspruce.com they use the glue for building aircraft
