Source for Timberwolf band saw blades
I discovered a great new (to me at least) source for Timberwolf blades. It’s Constitution Saw in South Windsor, CT. It seems to be a 1-man shop, but the proprietor is very knowledgeable and the prices were significantly cheaper than Sufolk. I just bought 2 bands and the welds were excellent. He ships anywhere in the lower 48. No web site, but the phone number is (860) 289-7696 or toll free at (800) 444-8041.
All the usual disclaimers apply. I have no interest in the company other than being a happy customer.

Just to clarify -- he makes them to size? (Sounds like it, given the weld remark, but just want to confirm.) Thanks for the tip!

Yup. His pricing table is very similar; with listings for the different blades at "length up to and including".You probably already know this, but lots of companies sell the identical blade from the same factory. The blades come in huge reels that they cut/weld to length. I mentioned the weld because weld quality can be a major factor in the performance of the blade.Pete

Edit: It's "PS Wood"
"lots of companies sell the identical blade from the same factory." I'm sure, the Timber Wolf blades are decidedly different from others. Another name you will find on them, at the WWing shows, is PS Tools (I think! I just had a brain freeze). I have one out in the shop. As with your friend, they are clear with buyers that the blades are Timber Wolf blades.

Ah, it's "PS Wood" sorry for the confusion. They are packaged with the Timber Wolf log big and bold on the front.

The 'Viking' Blades from Lee Valley are Timberwolf as well. When they were originally listed, I seem to remember that they carried the Timberwolf logo. I know that they do have the wolf picture on the packaging. Not much in the range of sizes, though.Ron
"Not much in the range of sizes, though." Therein lies the charm of ordering from the company (or from Constitution Saw, from #1 in this thread). I can never find my saw's size "on the shelf" either. Hmph! I'd better go out tomorrow morning and check on that company's name....

Aren't the blades that Woodcraft sells also Timberwolf, but not Suffolk Machinery?
Suffolk Machinery owns the Timber Wolf name, they are the only one who makes them. If you're asking "Are the Woodcraft-brand blades actually TW blades under a different name?" I kinda doubt it, because there's nothing in the description about them being "low tensioned, high ductile Swedish silicon steels."
I say "makes them" -- I think they actually manufacture them, and don't just import them from Sweden. Here is the background info on the company.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Actually Woodcraft calls them Timberwolf and identifies them as low-tensionl, Swedish silicon steel. Part of the description is on their website, and part on the box:http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=4812That's why I find it somewhat confusing.Dave
I guess I'm confused about what's confusing you, LOL. They sell Timber Wolf blades, Timber Wolf blades are made by Suffolk Machinery. forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Got it. Thanks
