Here is a question to my fellow woodworkers in the West Chester, Pa area. I am looking to buy some cherry wood to make a bed. My question is there any mills in the area? I have the tools to plane it down. The woodcraft store in the area has some but not enough and a little on the high. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Shaker,
Go to http://www.wwodcentral.com and Check out the link to WOODFINDER. It'll get you what you want. There is also a small mill in Schwenksville that doesn't advertise, but I'm drawing a blank right now as far as the name.........

You should try Hearne Hardwoods in Oxford, Groff and Groff in Quarryville, and Good Hope Hardwoods in New London. All are excellent sources of cherry.
I live in Downingtown (not far from you), and I buy my lumber from Hollister's Sawmill. Bob Hollister's mill is in Columbia, Lancaster County (just the other side of Lancaster). His prices are much easier on the wallet than Groff or Hearne. He has a great selection of cherry.
His phone number is (717) 898-2676. I don't hestitate to recommend him...Bob Jones
