Does anybody have a mail-order source for Zinsser Quick-15 varnish? (Wood Finishing Supplies is back-ordered on this until mid-January. Homestead Finishing Products is closed until 5 January.)

Jamie,
Don't know where you are, but it is available in paint and hardware stores on the North east and I'm pretty sure Zinsser is distributed nationally. Even if they don't stock it, most hardware and paint stores can get something like that in a few days from their warehouse and you won't be paying shipping charges. Zinsser has a web site, zinsser.com, they could possibly tell you who mail orders it.

Thanks for your suggestions. Some Zinsser products are quite common here (San Francisco). Their shellacs are in almost every paint store. However, I have never seen Quick-15 on the shelves. I asked Zinsser itself for retailers of this varnish. Unfortunately, they only know the names of their dealers, not what they stock, so I received a list of every paint store in the area. I asked one local paint store if they'd special-order Quick-15 for me. They said that their minimum buy is one full case, so I'd have to pay for that -- 12 quarts as I recall. What I need to find is somebody who retails this varnish.
I just saw Zinsser, or howerver it's spelled, at my local ACe store. I don't recall seeing the Quick-15 varnish, Try your local Ace store and they should be able to order it.
Jamie...I use a lot of Quick-15 in my finishing. It goes on easy and drys quick. Doesnt smell much either. I buy at Sherwin-Williams. They stock it in quarts and gallons, gloss and satin.

Thanks -- that was the lead I needed. My local Sherwin-Williams didn't have any Quick-15 on the shelf, but found it in a local warehouse. They'll sell it to me in single-can quantities, and will have it for me in two working days.

Jamie...glad you found it. As I said in my previous post, I love the stuff. Since I switched to Quick-15 from poly I have become a happy camper. No more bubbles in the finish, no more brush marks, no more poly stink. Also, Quick-15 is very conducive to doing the wet sand and polish routine as shown in the latest FWW. Get back to me with how you like it. Happy Holidays and Happy Varnishing.
