All:
I am making good progress with my Massachusetts Highboy, following Glen Huey’s version and it is coming out well.
Although I am rather happy with my supplier of hard wood, a rather well known source of hard wood in Stoughton, MA Downes and Reader, there is limited supply of high quality figured maple which I used on this piece. Since I am now working on all the drawer fronts I am looking for the most highly figured consistent pieces so it will look the very best.
Can anyone suggest a source within a day drive of North Attleboro, MA for this? I have yet to try Northland Forest Products.
Thansk for your suggestions.

You could try Kellogg Hardwoods in Bethel CT. I buy rough hardwoods from them and they are pretty reasonable. You can call to see what kind of maple they have available.
Also Northland Forest Products in Kingston NH or Highland.C.
Dubie,
Give Paul Taran a call at Maple Leaf Hardwoods in Northern PA. His website is http://www.curlymaple.com. He is a great guy who sells really nice figured maple. I am sure that you'll find what you are looking for.

Try Highland Hardwoods in Brentwood, NH. At any given time, they may have what you need. They have a website.
Dubie,
If your in the neighborhood, I'd try Anderson McQuaid in Arlington at Fresh Pond (end of route 2), there you can check rough and S2S stuff. Also, near by, the Rockler store in Cambridge on Mass Ave. they have some special stuff usually.
berkshire products in Sheffield, ma. About a 2 hour drive from you.

Check their web site and give them a call.

I've dealt with just about all of the local sources mentioned so far. If you give Downes and Reader some notice they will pull out a new package of lumber for you. Talk to Paul.

They are located in Ct just over the border from RI and I have purchased some excellent wood from them. The prices may seem a little higher but the quality is such that it may contain little waste and in the end be cheaper. They also had a small but nice display of furniture when I was there in the past. They are worth the trip.

They would be my second choice to try and remember they are located in TAX Free NH which would lower the final price somewhat.

They are also very good and located a few miles up the road from northland with a stop at http://www.brentwoodmachine.com/ on the way worth the trip
C.P. Johnson Lumber in Elkwood, VA might have what you need. He has an ad in the classifieds of FWW. I just got some very nice curly maple from him, it was worth the drive.
Good Hope Hardwoods of PA (near NJ and MD border) Norm is the owner and he always had great material
