Making rocking chairs out of hard maple. What are the good sources in northern West Virginia, western PA, eastern Ohio? I like to pick through the stock, 8/4 thick, 6-8 inches wide. Especially appreciate anyone’s personal experience with a supplier.
Thanks.

Hi:
Just recently took road trip to Irion Lumber. In PA, North Central, Wellsboro.
Tiger maple, Walnut, cherry are specialty. Can pick to your hearts content, just clean up your stack.
Got a review here in the Books/video Critique Blog-

I live way out here in California, and would always prefer to buy my wood firsthand, rather than ordering it. Once, however, I had a special need for some very fine curly maple 4x6 posts, and I ordered from Good Hope Hardwoods in PA--I described my need to the guy, and received the most beautiful, clear, knot-free, fantastically figured wood I could possibly have hoped for. He came through once again when I needed large dimension walnut that I couldn't find anywhere out here in the land of great Walnut trees.
Good luck.
