I am planning some textured glass panels for some of the doors in my kitchen. I like some of the options from Rockler, but my experience has usually been that I can find the same stuff at about 1/2 the cost elsewhere. Is this the kind of thing that can usually be picked up at a local glass shop? A Google search didn’t really turn up much except for much smaller stock aimed at the stained glass crowd, and much-too-expensive architectural glass. Or is Rockler’s $14/sq.ft. a pretty good price.
Thanks for any thoughts,

My local glass guys have about a hundred different styles/patterns of textured glass, most of which are reasonably priced. It's been a few years since I got any, but I don't think I paid anywhere near $14/ft.

Thanks Mike,
Wow, I think I'll go to a local store and talk to people to buy something. How nostalgic. Maybe I'll leave my cell phone in the car even.
All sarcasm aside, I have so few opportunities to go on errands like this that I appreciate knowing that I am barking up the right tree.
Thanks again.

You might check with a larger cabinet shop.. the ones cranking out hundreds of cabinets a week. My local one sells glass panels, leaded glass stained glass etc. for amazingly cheap prices thru their surplus store.
For example I just bought 12 stained glass panels for $15 dollar a panel. Real leaded stained glass. They are just the size I need for my kitchen cabinets. Textured glass was much cheaper, about $7.00 a panel
While you're there you can check out the prices on odd lots, discountinued items, display models and etc.. A complete kitchen cabinet set which sold originally for $23,000 was on sale for $3900.00 with 25% off that particular saturday.
Use the power of mass buying to get the deals you'd like..
