Hello
I have a extremely small shop and wonder if you have an opinion
on what they call
V-sander ?.
this may be my only option in my very small space. I’ve seen plans
for some of these little V-drum sanders and the price is also a concern.
thanks,
Hal Williams.

Hal,
I'm not sure what you mean by a v-drum sander. Do you have a picture of one or a link to some site where I can view one? Thanks. Gary
Thanks Gary,
Go to stockroom supply on the web.
This is one of the sites that offer a builder kit.
Hal.
Hi Hal,I thought I'd step in for Gary on this one. I just looked up the V-drum sander you are refering to and it's not something that we've tested or even seen before (http://www.stockroomsupply.com). We make it a policy not to recommend (or discredit) tools that we haven't tested in our shop. Allow me to turn the question around: what tasks are you trying to accomplish and are there more standard tools available to do them, like a catalievered drum sander, oscillating spindle sander, or even a smoothing plane and scraper?Regards,

Hi Matt.
Thanks for your reponse, My intent is to sand bandsawn veneer.
I would much rather process my own work in my little shop and feel
the completeness of my own projects. Some other things I want to do
is finish sand small raised panel cabinet doors and glue joined projects. Thanks, Hal.
P.S. I have and use a planer, also various sanding equiptment, I am
having a problem convincing my wife to let me spend $500 to $800 on yet another must have tool, can you believe that!
Thanks.
