Specials on a mid-power cordless drill?

I have a project at work where I need a 14.4 volt (or 15.6 volt)cordless drill with 1/2 inch collet. It should have 2 batteries with a case and a charger capable of 1 hour charging. I will be needing 3 for our project. I want a good one (Dewalt, Porter Cable, Panasonic, etc) because it will be the most used tool for our repair crew.
I figure that there are probably some specials out there that I may miss and that some of you might be aware of. I got a real deal on my personal drill about 2 years ago since the model was being phased out for a new version. If someone knows of a deal like that, I could save my project some cash. I live in the Detroit area.

Just two weeks ago I bought a DeWalt 18v 1/2" for $269 at Lowe's. In the kit it has a 1-hour charger, two batteries, and a handle that makes it easier when you're drilling a really tough hole.
It seems to be tough as heck and I've drilled 7/8" thru big old joists and 1 1/4" too. Does pretty well driving screws too. It is not an impact driver (I have a separate one), but it's got 500 in-lbs torque.
The one thing I don't like about it is, the three-speed selector is a bit fidgety; to get the speed selected sometimes you have to spin the drill a bit to get the speed selector to "uncatch."
The big bonus is that Lowe's is having a special (or was a couple weeks ago anyway) where you get an extra battery with cordless tools, which comes in the form of a Lowe's gift certificate for the amount of the battery (in this case, $90 plus tax). So that makes it a pretty good deal, $179 for the drill w/2 batteries. BTW HD would not match this promo.
I just bought the Makita 14.4v combo set of the 1/2 drill and impact driver. The combo comes with 2 ea 2.6ah batteries, charger and a work light. A great deal as the package is only a little more than the impact driver. Try Amazon.com or McFeely's, depending on the state you live in to minimize the sales tax. I was wondering why the deal, and learned that Makita is introducing a new model of their 14.4 drills.
I was looking for a lighter weight drill to replace my old Makita 9.6v drill. I use a PorterCable 19.6 for heavy stuff and it is great. I have used the 14.4 on a project and it does fine. Not the torque of the big PC, but for the small stuff I was working on it was fne. The impact driver is fantastic. Drives screws in a fraction the time and effort of the drill in drive mode.
How much and what is the model number?
Torque? You want torque? Panasonic is giving away a drill body with any purchase of one of their impact drivers, and *those* babies have torque. I use the 12V because they are light, and the impact driver blows away any cordless drill I've ever used. The 3.5Ah battery is a great one, too.RogerI'd rather be making cabinets and friends....
