I am looking at different jointers to be my first one, and am going to go with an 8″ with carbide spiral cutter heads. The thing I noticed was that Cutech has a benchtop version that looks to be leagues under the price of the floor standing models , with obvious drawbacks like the shorter table length and decreased weight (if that is a drawback for some). I aslo noticed that the number of cutter heads was significantly lower, 16 vs. 40-50. I realize that it probably has something to do with how many times the cutters make contact with the wood per revolution but can anyone tell me what exactly the implications are there? TIA
