Hi,
I have a few pictures that I would like to share with you, and perhaps get your professional opinion on how to go about repairing.
If you can zoom in, the details of the crack in the front leg are a lot easier to see. I have made a “U” type joint on the back leg, to engage the most long grain area as possible, and will epoxy the joint together.
The other piece of this puzzle is that there are 1 1/2″ long caster stems that are set in place up in the bottoms of the four legs. The customer wants these casters in order to be just like the rest of the set of Chairs in the court room.

I responded to your other post but here's another quick reply. Photo number two really seems to be a good approach. If you can get the repaired section to have a matching stain and finish, I think it will go un-noticed and have plenty of strength.
You could hide the joint even further if by mitering the shoulder of the joint so that the glue line is 45 degrees to the grain rather than 90 degrees to the grain, but that may be unnecessary.

Matt Thanks for your words of encouragement, and I'll be looking for your continued discussions and posts from the rest of the expert forum. Timing is not crucial right now, however I would like to get this project done as there are other jobs building up. These projects seem to be coming out of the wood work around here!Senor Dorado
