Good afternoon all,
I fellow woodworker asked me today about the best options for spray booths / rooms. She has limited space (i.e. a separate room is not viable) and was wondering what her best alternatives were? She primarily finishes smaller projects, but says that she would like to move up to cabinet work / carcases so would need a larger space.
Any suggestions?
Thank you for your time.

Jeff Jewitt in his book "Great Wood Finishes" has plans for a neat portable spray booth.

It's hard to say without knowing what the space restictions are, but what I've seen that works great is old kitchen fryer hoods and exhausts from restaurants. Plenty of draw for a small booth, the hoods are easily fixed with shower curtains, and filtering at that size is not an overwhelming problem to solve. I've also seen some get these for nothing when restaurants are upgrading to new or existing codes, or remodeling. I'm not sure why, but it's not one of the things the used restaurant suppliers can't legally resell here.
