Shellac is my favorite finish and I brush it on. I’ve sprayed pre/post cat lacquer and CV using a 4 stage Fuji pack, but never sprayed shellac. Those that have, I would appreciate your comments on what it is like to spray shellac, what cut do you use, what to look out for, needle size, etc. Thanks for your comments.

I have the Fuji 4 stage. Shellac sprays very easily. I forget which tip I use. Because the alcohol is very flammable, be careful where you spray. I would not do it in a basement near a furnace. Don't spray in direct sunlight either. It dries so fast you'll get droplets drying before they hit the surface. But really, shellac is about the easiest thing to spray.
I use Sealcoat, straight out of the can.
Ummmm... "would do it"?
Thanks. Fixed. Would NOT do it.
I use a 1.5 pound cut to spray shellac. The only issue I have is it dries so fast you will often get a rough surface and the need to scuff it off a bit. Sometimes I have used a rag soaked in alcohol to smooth out the finish before it dries completely.
I've sprayed a bit of shellac. Never a need to thin. Used 1.3 tip HVLP.
I've avoided using a turbine sprayer b/c the I think the warm air probably isn't a good idea, but obviously others do it.
I've never had an issue with temps being too hot, but I can say when you're spraying you can't mess around you have to lay on a good coat or else it will be fuzzy.
