Hi all,
My current project unerway is an entertainment cabinet for the TV, etc..
It is Quartersawn White oak. One of the rails for the doors (different batch of wood) developed a definate bow when it was cut to size.
I was only planning to use 2 hinges per door but now I think need 3 in order to tame that bow.
Is this “OK” solution, or should I have scraped that rail and cut another?
Subjective question or what??!
Any other options?

Gretch, cut another one. If it ever decides to straighten out it will be a real mess. How long did you aclimate the wood before you cut it?
Steve
*Thanks for the reply Steve. It a bit too late to cut another for this project...I had already done the glue up of the doors! I had run out of stock long enough for the rails and had some long scrape in my basement from a previous project...didnt let that aclimate to the shop at all.OOOPPPSSS! It didnt even dawn on me at the time to allow it to get used to different air.If its not one thing its another, chalk yet one more to "character" !!!
*That brings up another question...When does a "Character" piece become "Primitive"???!
*When the local disigners deem primitive to be the rage, and price accordingly.........(o:
